Approximately 15 to 25 new titles will be added to the collection each month at no additional cost.

Join MLNC for “Map Cataloging: The Basics”

This introductory workshop, taught by Susan Moore, Catalog Librarian and Bibliographer, Rod Library, University of Northern Iowa, will help get you started in cataloging maps and other cartographic materials. Emphasis will be on sheet maps with some discussion of atlases.The skills to be taught include title selection, how to measure a map correctly, scale calculation, how to record other mathematical data correctly, and the notes required specifically for cartographic materials.

The workshop will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Daniel Boone Regional Library (Columbia, Missouri) in the Friends Room from 9:30am-3:30pm.
